USPA NEWS - A Decade ago, Smartphones (as we know them by today´s Standards) didn´t exist. Three Decades earlier, no one even owned a Computer. Think about that, the first Personal Computers arrived about 40 years ago. Today, it seems nearly everyone is gazing at a Glowing, Handheld Computer. Intuitively, it feels like Technology is progressing faster than ever. But is it really ? Change that is too fast can be Troublesome. Technology is advancing faster than Society can handle, with only the People creating these Advancements being able to understand them. If only an Elite can keep up, the Rest of Us will become increasingly confused about how Technology works. How will we ever be able to understand Nanotechnology or Quantum Mechanics if they keep accelerating away from us ?
A Decade ago, Smartphones (as we know them by today´s Standards) didn´t exist. How will we ever be able to understand Nanotechnology or Quantum Mechanics if they keep accelerating away from us?
However, Technological advancements can be really beneficial to society. New Medicines and Treatments are being created, there are more efficient and Eco-Friendly Ways of producing Products, Developments are improving Education, the Web is a new World full of Knowledge. Technology has become an Integral Part of Humanities Survival. There is so much Innovation surrounding Technology that is creating a World we couldn´t even have imagined just a Few Centuries ago... Technology is progressing rapidly, and it is changing the Way we live, work and play. New Inventions are happening, and new Paradigms are born almost every day. Conventional Concepts we are used to as a Human Race for Decades or even Centuries are being disrupted by Cutting Edge Technology.

We often think about Technology as the latest Innovation : the Smartphone, the 3D Printer, the VR Headset. It´s only by taking a longer View, however, that we can understand its entwining with our Species´ Existence. For Technology is more than Computers, Cars or Gadgets. It is the entirety of Human-Made Artefacts that extend and amplify our grasp of the World. In its Separateness from and yet reliance upon Biological Life, Technology is uniquely Powerful and uniquely Needy. It embodies an ever-expanding Network of Dependencies, and in this Sense it invents many more Needs than it serves ““ with both its Requirements and its Capacities growing at an Exponential Rate compared to our own.
When we think about 2050 it seems like it is Ages from now and we imagine a completely different World, but in Reality, it is just 30 years from Now and we can already know what will be possible to have by that Time. We have a lot of Environmental, Social Problems and let´s see how Technology may solve them by 2050... Predictions could be : Nanobots will plug our Brains straight into the Cloud, People Reincarnation through AI, AI will become a positive Net Job Motivator, IoT tTchnology will change Product Designs, Space Tourism : a week in Orbit, Self-driving Cars will make driving safer, Charge your iphone with the Power of a Plant, Ocean Thermal Energy can take us to 100% renewable-energy, Drone Solution for discovering untouched Places, Half of Current Jobs in the world are unlikely to exist in 2050, EU will face a Shortage of 800,000 IT Workers by 2020...
